Fluke 179 is one of my favourite meter. I use it to double check on an equipment which has been lockout before i allow contractors to start any work around it.
Occasionally i also use its own thermocouple to measure pipe temperature when my Fluke 51 and 61 is out of reach.
I recommend it even the price is a bit higher.

I've used a variety of Fluke DMMs and after years of hands-on evaluation of others' units, I decided on the 179 with the EDA2 kit. This unit seems perfectly designed for electronics technicians and engineers, particularly those doing board bring-up and debugging new hardware. While many other DMMs have overlapping features, the 179 has all of the features that I regularly use and then some more. The EDA2 kit is essential for those working with ultra small SMT components. Imagine trying to get a standard probe on an 0201!
